What we store
Word lists, kid-friendly definitions, learning progress and optional account email are stored so the service works. Public sharing is off unless a list owner switches it on.
Children and accounts
Children can practise from a shared link without an account. Parents, teachers and older learners should manage email accounts and public sharing. We do not ask children for names, birthdays or contact details.
Uploads and AI
Uploaded photos, PDFs and typed words are processed to extract vocabulary and create definitions. Do not upload personal, confidential or identifying information.
Storage and advertising
Essential browser storage remembers lists, device progress, sound and privacy choices. WordGem may display contextual banner advertisements supplied by Google AdSense on landing, library, dashboard and between-round pages. Ads never appear during active quiz or spelling rounds. We do not use personalised advertising for child-directed content.
Control
List owners can unpublish or delete lists from their dashboard. Contact the site owner to request account or personal-data deletion.
