WordGem

Parent guide

Everything you need to turn this week's school sheet into practice your child enjoys — in about two minutes.

WordGem runs in the web browser. No App Store, no install, no storage used — open it on whichever device is handy.

1. Snap a clear photo

  • Lay the sheet flat in good light and fill the frame.
  • Printed or neat handwriting both work; PDFs are fine too.
  • Long lists are split into lessons of up to 30 words automatically.

2. Check the words

  • Fix any misread word and tweak meanings or sentences.
  • Press save — your list appears in your Parent Dashboard.

3. Share the magic link

  • Send it by WhatsApp, message, or show the QR code.
  • Your child opens it on any phone, tablet, laptop or Chromebook — no login.

4. A calm week before Friday

  • Monday: Learn the words (flashcards with voice).
  • Tuesday–Wednesday: Meaning quiz and Wizard Chat.
  • Thursday: Spelling and sentence dictation, then clear Trouble Gems.
  • Missed words are saved automatically and come back for extra practice.

5. Make it feel like an app (optional)

  • iPhone/iPad: tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
  • Android/Chrome: tap ⋮ → Add to Home screen / Install.
  • It uses almost no storage — nothing to download or update.
